I'm a Mechanical Engineer, working for Tractebel since 2011 in the Hydropower and Water Resources Department. Just one month after starting in 2011 I "won" a long-term posting to Switzerland for site supervision of the rehabilitation works on the mechanical equipment.
Through my work on this project, which was scheduled across three stages, involved different types of machines and many hydromechanical elements, I earned a great deal of practical experience.
In the office I'm responsible for the design and procurement of the hydromechanical works such as steel lining to pressure shafts, valves and gates, as well as for the turbines and all auxiliary systems.
At further site supervisions in Sudan and Georgia as well as project meeting in South Korea for Hydro-Power-Plant in Pakistan, I was able to gain more international experience and, above all, to follow the work I had planned by myself during implementation.
One of the best things about my job is the technical variety, including the interchange between office and construction site. As an additional benefit, travelling to different countries and getting to know the cultures and people is also very interesting.
