Emissions-free electricity for Kenya

Our energy experts are overseeing the construction of a 40-MW solar power plant In Eldoret, Kenya’s fifth-largest city.

Our Renewable Energy experts are supervising the construction of a photovoltaic (PV) plant to supply Kenya with more renewable energy. The PV power plant in Eldoret is expected to be connected to the grid in 2022 and will increase the proportion of renewables in Kenya’s energy mix.

Driving green energy in Eldoret since 2015

Our specialists have been involved in the project since 2015. The 40-MW Eldoret power plant was Tractebel’s first utility-scale PV implementation project in Kenya. As independent engineers, we conducted technical due diligence in the early stages of this initiative.

Phase 2: construction monitoring

In Phase 2 of the project, Tractebel will monitor the progress of construction, commissioning and operation. This will also include regular site visits, bi-monthly progress reports, performance test evaluations and annual operational monitoring reports.

Alten Gestión de Proyectos S.L. is the project sponsor and the lender is Standard Bank of South Africa Limited.
